¿Estan listos?

Desde la frontera a Chicago,

Ciudad Juarez based band The Chamanas returns to Chicago

to perform alongside 'Midwestern' Rock band Los Gold Fires.

*Latin Grammy nominated as Best New Artist, and recipient of ‘Premios de Música Independiente’ (IMAS) in Mexico City*

The Chamanas have become an increasingly popular band in both United States and in Mexico for their blend of vintage Latin 1970’s rock and their fusion of ranchera, pop and indie sounds. The Chamanas champion sounds of nostalgia and pop with songs like Halas de Hierro, their rendition of Los Terricolas -Te Juro Que Te Amo, and Ariel Camacho’s Hablemos.

As a border band, The Chamanas have not only been influenced by the violent and political history of the frontera, but also by the revival and emerging culture of artistry and the embrace of a Mexican-American identity. The new wave of border music also known as “música fronteriza” plays an important role in The Chamanas variety of traditional huapango rhythms, Mexican folklore and the mix of synths, R&B and hip-hop.

Now with their return to the Windy City, The Chamanas will be presenting their latest album NEA to Chicago with the help of popular Mexican-American band Los Gold Fires. Tickets are available for $8, $12 DOS
